Community Service and Volunteering

Community Service Has Been a Long-standing Orthodox Tradition

Countless of Christ’s parables show us how to love and serve one another. At Koraes, we strive to incorporate those teachings into our volunteering and community service requirements.

Building Responsibility Through Service

Each student beginning in kindergarten will progressively work towards completing more service hours, with opportunities to achieve those within our own school, like assisting with pick-up and drop-off, acting as athletic manager during games, assisting in the office, and more! Specific requirements are provided at the beginning of each school year.

Serving Together as One Koraes Family

As a family, parents commit to 10 (ten) hours of service, or can choose the buyout option. Adults will have plenty of opportunities to help during our Special Events and Fundraisers, the Junior Olympics, and Athletic Concessions, to name a few. Join us as we work as a Koraes Family to give back hundreds of hours to our school and the communities it serves!

In the past, we have worked with:
Beds Plus, Catholic Charities / Chicago Health Initiative,
Philoptochos, FMSC, and Park Lawn
