On
Saturday, March 13, 2010, the Illinois Junior Academy of Science held the
regional science fair for our school’s region. Seven of our 7th and
8th grade students entered their projects. Those students are:
Nikolaos Atkinson, Paul Davenport, Alesia Karuntzos, Athanasios Makris,
Nicolette Chialdikas, Natalia Cvetkovic and Athena Xanos. Our students all
presented excellent projects and were among more than 550 other students from
Southern Cook County and DuPage County. Nicolette Chialdikas received a score
qualifying her to attend the State Science Fair in May. We would like to
congratulate Nicolette and all the students for their willingness to devote a
Saturday to enhance their academic abilities.
We
would also like to thank some of our 5th
and 6th grade students for
assisting in a very important position.
Those students are: Grace Davenport,
Alexandra Lenz, Victoria Atkinson, John
Karuntzos and Constantine Makris. They
served as runners, delivering score
sheets from the judges to the tally
room.
Lastly, we would like to thank our
parents who devoted their time and
talent as monitors and judges. Those
parents are: Dr. John Atkinson, Mr.
Chris Chialdikas, Mrs. Angelina
Cvetkovic, Mrs. Elsa Davenport, Mr.
George Karuntzos, Mr. Craig Lenz and Mr.
Christ Makris. Their dedication to the
success of our children is greatly
appreciated. We would also like to
thank Mr. Kevin Lacey, a coworker of Mr.
Makris for his roll in judging as well.
Without the assistance of these parents
participation at the regional fair would
not be possible.
Mrs. Michele Ebert
