Philosophy of Curriculum: Kindergarten - 5th Grade
The elementary school curriculum covered kindergarten through fifth grades concentrates on an integrated program of basic studies in the five academic disciplines of: language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and Greek. The curriculum is supplemented by the instruction of reading, technology, religion, physical education, art. and music. The projects, themes, and experiments bring out the enthusiasm of the students, who try new ways of expressing themselves. Educators help the students find common and natural connections among the courses so they can apply their knowledge better. Students find the safe, nurturing environment of these grades allows them to feel secure. Instruction is in a self-contained contained classroom and supplemented with small group instruction by a number of teachers in the above listed areas. Special attention is given to the development of the following skill areas: reading, writing, mathematics, critical thinking, and oral/written expression in a bilingual program. Our staff use data to drive differentiated instruction in grades K - 5.
