Join the Koraes family
Choosing an elementary school for your child is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a parent, and finding the right fit can be challenging. Koraes Elementary School offers challenging courses and development in the traditional core areas of study such as language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. Greek foreign language, physical education, art, music, and technology are also offered as part of the curriculum. One unique characteristic of the Koraes program is the study of Greek language, culture and heritage starting with the prekindergarten program through eighth grade. All of this is provided in a safe, nurturing, faith and family based environment during your child's formative years.
In addition to core education and religion classes emphasizing traditional Eastern Orthodox values, Koraes students come together regularly as a faith community to receive the sacraments and celebrate liturgies. By maintaining an Orthodox identity, our children learn to live their faith and to serve others. Daily morning prayer is a part of a child's life at Koraes.
Prekindergarten parents have the flexibility of sending their children up to 5 days a week in our half-day or full day program. Our Kindergarten is a full day program.
Our school day begins at 8:45am. Prekindergarten half day students end at 12:15. All other grades are dismissed at 3:30pm. Early drop-off of children begins at 7:30am (with supervision). After school clubs and after school care (with supervision) ends at 4:30pm.
All children baptized in the Eastern Orthodox faith are welcome at the school. For additional questions, please contact our school office at 708.974.3402.

Tuition
Koraes now provides two different tuition schedules. One schedule is discounted for Orthodox parents who are members in good standing with their Orthodox Parish for 2018. The second is a higher tuition rate schedule for Orthodox parents who do not hold a membership at an Orthodox parish for the calendar year 2018.
Our billing procedure this year will be as follows (March 2018 School Board Decision): All new and returning families will be initially billed at the higher rate, no stewardship tuition rate (no exceptions). It is up to the family (not the school office) to obtain a letter from their Parish stating that they are members in good standing for the 2018 calendar year. Once the school office receives this document, a credit will be issued moving you to the lower rate tuition schedule. Verbal notice will not qualify for issuing this credit.
If this letter in good standing is received 30 days prior to your first FACTS payment, you will be immediately credited and will pay the lower monthly tuition rate throughout the year. If not received by this deadline, you will initially pay the higher monthly tuition amount (no exceptions). When a Parish letter in good standing is received after you begin your monthly FACTS tuition payments at the higher tuition rate, we will credit your account for the total difference and adjust (decrease) ONLY your future monthly payment amounts. Letters in good standing must be received by December 15th, 2018 to qualify for the lower tuition rates for the 2018-2019 school year. No adjustments will be made to tuition after Dec. 15, 2018.(No exceptions.)
